Start your adventure from Aqaba, heading north toward the ancient rose-red city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. As you journey through the rugged, sun-drenched desert landscapes, your anticipation builds for what awaits in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Morning: Departure from Aqaba to Petra
Your driver will pick you up in the morning from your hotel in Aqaba, embarking on a scenic drive that takes you across the Araba Valley. The sight of the Jordanian desert’s vastness slowly transforms into the mountains surrounding Petra, signaling that you’re near one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological wonders.
Late Morning: Arrival at Petra
Upon reaching Petra, you will begin your exploration of this mesmerizing Nabatean city, carved into the pink-hued sandstone cliffs. The journey into Petra starts through the narrow, winding Siq, a dramatic gorge that stretches for over a kilometer. As you walk through the Siq, marvel at the surrounding rock formations, each seemingly telling its own story, carved by centuries of natural forces.
Your first sight upon exiting the Siq will be the breathtaking Treasury (Al-Khazneh), a magnificent structure that rises out of the cliffs at an awe-inspiring 40 meters in height. Its intricate façade, a blend of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian architectural influences, is the crowning jewel of Petra.
From here, continue exploring the ancient city. Visit the Street of Facades, a row of monumental tombs carved into the cliffs, and ascend the steps leading to the Monastery (Ad-Deir), another impressive monument that offers panoramic views of the valley below. The silence of the site and its grandeur are deeply moving.
After some exploration, pause for a moment to absorb the timeless atmosphere of Petra, as it whispers the secrets of a civilization long passed.
Lunch: Petra City Restaurant
After an enthralling morning of exploration, head to a local restaurant in Petra for a traditional Jordanian meal. Savor your food, immersing yourself in the flavors of the region.
Afternoon: Overnight in Petra
Post-lunch, you will have time to relax and enjoy a leisurely afternoon at your hotel. Petra’s charm doesn’t fade with the setting sun, so enjoy the serene atmosphere of the town, and if you wish, you can take a stroll in the area. In the evening, rest up for another enriching day of your journey.

Late Morning: Arrival at the Dead Sea
You’ll reach the shores of the Dead Sea, an experience in itself. The mineral-rich waters, famous for their therapeutic properties, are unlike any other body of water in the world. As you step into the warm, buoyant waters, you will experience the sensation of floating effortlessly on the surface. The salinity of the water ensures that swimming is an almost surreal experience.
Take a moment to indulge in the natural therapeutic treatments, including a mud bath, where the nutrient-rich black mud is applied to your skin, leaving it soft and rejuvenated. The mineral-rich waters have been known for centuries to soothe muscles and joints, offering a unique and healing experience.
