Embark on a riveting two-day excursion from the Northern Jordan-Israeli border, immersing yourself in Jordan’s rich history and stunning surroundings. Day one begins with a visit to Madaba, known as the “City of Mosaics,” where you’ll see old Byzantine and Umayyad masterpieces like as the complex Madaba Map. Visit Mount Nebo, a holy place where Moses is claimed to have seen the Promised Land, and see the mediaeval ruins of Shoubak Castle, a Crusader fortification steeped in centuries of history. Your day concludes with an overnight stay in Petra, where you will be immersed in the ancient beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

On day two, expect to be amazed as you take a guided tour of Petra, discovering its breathtaking rock-cut architecture and hidden treasures, including the famed Treasury and the Roman road (Cardo). Afterwards, explore Wadi Rum’s unique vistas, which include towering sandstone cliffs and huge desert plains. Explore the desert environment on an exhilarating 4×4 safari, taking in panoramic views and Bedouin hospitality. This two-day journey ends at the Arava border and offers a spectacular combination of history, culture, and natural beauties, leaving you with cherished memories of Jordan’s everlasting attraction.

Itinerary

Day 1: Northern Jordan-Israeli Border to Madaba, Nebo, and Shoubak – Overnight in Petra

Morning: Departing from the Northern Jordan-Israeli border, embark on an enchanting journey towards Madaba, known as the “City of Mosaics.” Explore its intricate Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, including the famed Madaba Map depicting the Holy Land.

Midday: Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have glimpsed the Promised Land. Take in breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley and visit the Memorial Church of Moses, adorned with exquisite mosaics.

Afternoon: Journey to Shoubak and discover the impressive ruins of Shoubak Castle, a Crusader fortress dating back to the 12th century. Explore its well-preserved architecture and learn about its strategic significance in the region.

Evening: Arrive in Petra and settle into your accommodation for the night. Enjoy a leisurely evening exploring the vibrant town center or relaxing in anticipation of the adventures to come.

Day 2: Petra Tour, Wadi Rum Tour, and Drop-off at Arava Border

Morning: Begin your day with a guided tour of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Explore its magnificent rock-cut architecture, including the iconic Treasury, Royal Tombs, and Monastery, while immersing yourself in the rich history of this ancient Nabatean city.

Midday: After lunch, journey to Wadi Rum, a captivating desert landscape renowned for its towering sandstone cliffs and vast, open spaces. Embark on a thrilling 4×4 desert safari, traversing through sand dunes and narrow canyons, and soaking in the mesmerizing beauty of the desert.

Afternoon: Conclude your adventure with a drop-off at the Arava border, where you can bid farewell to Jordan and continue your journey with memories of an unforgettable two-day exploration of its ancient wonders and natural marvels.

Dress code:

  • In the winter, bring warm clothing, caps, and water.

Walking Distance:

At Petra, it takes at least 4 km (or 2.5 miles) to walk from the Visitors Centre to the Basin and the same amount of time to return to the Main Gate.

The program includes:

  • Pickup from any place in Jordan and drop off.
  • Transfers by air-conditioned vehicle.
  • English-speaking guide.
  • Entrance fees to the sites.
  • Meals.
  • 1 – night accommodation .
  • Horseback riding from Petra Park’s main gate to the Siq entrance (800 m).
