Day 1:

 

Amman – Jerash – Amman,

Early in the morning you will visit Amman Citadel, the Archeological Museum, then visiting the Roman Theater, then drive north to

Jerash (Gerasa), once known as the land of Gilead, Known in the Bible as the region of the Gerasenes.

It was part of the Roman Decapolis and is sometimes referred to as the Pompei of the East, the best-preserved city of Roman times, and visit its theaters, temples, churches and colonnaded streets then drive back to Amman to your hotel for dinner and over night.

 

Day 2:

 

Madab – Nebo –Kerak (king’s Way) – Dana,

Transfer to Madaba and visit the famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Your next stop will be Mount Nebo, where like Moses you will be able to overlook the Holy Land and the Dead Sea. If the sky is clear Jerusalem, Jericho and Bethlehem will meet your eye.

The journey will continue along the King’s Highway. On the way you will pass through Wadi Mujib, the grand canyon of Jordan. You will stop in Kerak for lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the huge castle where Saladin and Richard Lionheart fought during the crusades, overnight Dana.

 

Day 3:

 

Dana – Hiking Wadi Dana – Feynan Eco Lodge,

In the morning, Transfer to Dana Village which offers an excellent view of the Dana Nature Reserve, to guest house to start hiking through Wadi Dana (5 hours hiking), to the Feynan Eco Lodge for overnight.

 

Day 4:

 

Feynan – Wadi Ghweir – Wadi Namala – Petra,

After breakfast, Drive by four-wheel drive vehicle to the Roman Byzantine Churches at Khirbet Feinan, See Feynan ancient copper mines (8500 BC – 4500 BC, Neolithic times) and hike through Wadi Gweir through Wadi Araba, Namala , Little Petra to Wadi Musa for over overnight.

 

Day 5:

 

Petra Monastery,

At Petra begin a guided tour from the main Gate, walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Nabatean Roman Theater, the Roman Road(Cardo), the great temple, to the basin.

Then climb the stairs to the Monastery and admire the splendid view over the Wadi Araba then back to the Basin then back through the Siq to Wadi Musa to your hotel.

 

Day 6:

 

Snake Monument – Jabal Haroun,

Early Morning hike through Petra Siq to the Snake Monument, Jabal Haroun to the tomb of Haroun, and enjoy the panoramic view of Petra and Wadi Araba, then hike back to Wadi Musa.

 

Day 7:

 

Petra – Wadi Rum,

You shall pass the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom, described by Lawrence of Arabia and explore Wadi Rum by jeep for full day trip, to Lawrence springs,, and the inscriptions made by the Thamudic and Nabatean people centuries ago.

Khazzall Canyon, Little stone bridge And you may even climb one of the natural rock bridges and some sand dunes, then to Umm Fruth Bridge you shall see the house where Lawrence of Arabia lived, Burdah rock bridge and Barrah Canyon, finally to your desert camp for overnight.

 

Day 8:

 

Wadi Rum -Umm Adaame,

Next morning drive by 4X4 to Umm Adaami, the highest mountain in Rum, Jordan (1830 meters), you will climb the mountain for 3 hours, a marvelous experience, a place where you can contemplate the silence on top of the sky-high, then to Aqaba at the Red Sea for overnight.

 

Day 9:

 

Aqaba Free day,

You will be free to spend the day and the next day according to your own wishes. Suggestions (optional: diving or snorkeling, relaxing on one of the beautiful sandy beaches.

Or perhaps you would like to take a trip on a glass boat and see the amazing coral reefs), dinner and overnight at hotel in Aqaba.

 

Day 10:

 

Aqaba – Wadi Araba – Lot’s Cave – Wadi Mujeb – Dead Sea,

in the morning travel via Wadi Araba, visit Lot’s cave near the small town of Zoar (modern-day Safi), see Lot’s wife pillar and will arrive Dead Sea the lowest point on earth, hike in Wadi Mujib (lower part), then overnight Dead Sea.

 

Day 11:

 

Dead Sea Free Day – Overnight Dead Sea,

Free time for swimming and floating, mud bath, Evening transfer to Amman for overnight.

 

Day 12:

 

Dead Sea – Baptism site – Desert Castles – Amman,

In the morning you will visit the “Bethany beyond the Jordan River, where John was baptizing”, and where he also baptized Jesus Christ to east of Jordan, then drive to the eastern desert of Jordan, today you shall see three of the best-preserved desert castles;

  • Qasr Al-Harrana castle,
  • Qusayr Amra is placed by Unesco on its World Heritage List,
  • Qasr Al-Azraq, was built in black basalt and has been in continuous use since Roman times, during the Arab Revolt it functioned as the headquarters of Lawrence of Arabia.

Then drive back to Amman, dinner and over night.
